summer bakes pancake laziness- flat and dry and stretched across the landscape a pan scraped dry of energy the free exchange of molecules of air staring down all effort evaporating in steam and streaming off into the suddenchill night

apples for breakfast again? thought the jambly brothers-- two curious but polite monkeys who lived in an oceanside home filled with writing implements and piles of papers haphazardly strewn about. by the time the yellow marshrutka arrived at their stop, though, the brothers were ready and waiting, apples in hand, heading off on the bumpy road toward day.
