justwrite 24 august

i will eat your smile with my teeth
splashing chewy gums into words
there are petals made of ivory
siding behind lips
there are always rhymes with lips
eclipsing sips and tipping flips
i am full of extra fingers
pointing the way your way
my way is pointless
my way is over there by the trees
my way is how i do it
without a musical explanation
but sometimes yes
test the waters and bottle your daughters
stun your sons with electric detail
draw deep from your wheel well
gasp the traps before they score your air
braiding your hair into confusion
the trouble with food
the perceptions of good
exercise leaves behind
tabletops expand
handy lands beyond reach now
sparkling climates beg for relief
a tablecloth laid with crumbs
humming too much
let me see those toes
i will kiss your broken elbow
bending again and again
reaching out to make a move
take a turn a spin of the roll of the
but everything comes up stars
hearts
blue moons
wait until the cereal is gone
tell me what you really want
tell me who you really see
remind me of your excuses
beautiful in your mouth
charcoal in my ears
