justwrite 28 august

out in the other room
there's a swooning time piece
swollen with hands
waiting to shake yours
heavy with guilt
spilt numbers
paper cuts
retribution
leftover coleslaw that doesn't belong here
moving on
to your right your eyes unpack
multiflora teleprompters
ready to send you your own words
inserted at the last moment
ready and waiting
sliver-plated and shiny
defining a whole hallway
a passage to grassy lands far away
expanding to stay there
i care not for that albatross
i will teach it how to fly
i will slice my apples and make it pie
tea for the latecomers
no words for the hummers
golden slumbers colored by number
i cannot take you all right now
there are words to hold on to/
hold off on
wait until the moon is empty
then the mail will come
then the numbers will run dry
flying into hurricane fits
twisting paper into lesser tickets
bits of advice in a pale hand
shaking/ delivering
i regret to inform you
wait until the stream
spill out all the spelling words
wonder what the difference would be
if the sea would sink
