justwrite 18 august

tandem fandom we are enamored of entertainment the same sentences make us laugh we carry carafes to giraffes in the zoo and the truth sets itself free and takes itself for a walk it’s easy to balk at such ease and this is how it’ll probably go as the show goes on as the bells ring strong and loud songs we’re proud to know the words too truly absurd to imagine anything so easy we’re freezing our tag and twisting fresh rags into unexpected anthems we have leftovers we are disposable we close our full eyes and smile with passing style I am waiting for a call and I am waiting just to answer without question it’s a lesson I can teach but not learn toss on water or maybe burn we cannot listen closely enough it’s a tough nut to crack to run that track record right off the charts the broken hearts of august steaming through dark dawns the kind that could be cloudy the rowdy bunches of rain pressed upward and away staining the glass ceiling reeling against the forecast the hot wet air faring well in its efforts but forcing the rest aside I cannot hide cannot stop seeking always peeking in the mailbox the stale clues reviewed and found wanting imagined haunting when the answer is too busy the answer is too dizzy a dream to come true in living color the numbers adding up but the geometry mis-angled the lines having dangled too loosely spruced up in borrowed clothes and indisposed to imagine tragedies we’d like to see our answers given in triplicate I waited a bit to make a suggestion to ask for direction and when it was given well I saw the pictures of that day and in this way I know things fall apart a broken start leaves a jagged edge and the wedge could be cheese or a too-chilled breeze overcharging fees and uprooting trees the kind that used to give shade the music that we replayed the fresh jokes poking through the frost and I’ve lost that chance some other dance goes on and it’s a song I won’t forget will stay with me and yet
