5 september

as the door closes the clock strikes up and pop! banned from the nightstand and dandy enough to sing: bringing up the rear of the parade it's enough to have played the band on / the beat goes and we show up instead of down though the forecast drops the arrow and every pressure high is low again / stalling until resolution i am solving answers instead of questions and all the wrong dimensions pile up / buttercups and other drivers coloring your chin go dark and i park the tennis balls back under the fence / don't mention those plans / don't scandal those hams as the honey bakes glaze / amazing as a race i'm too exhausted to register for and what's more i'm running as it is / alone and tucking stones into old victorian pockets / heavy as we go and the chapters tumble faster through the dryer cycle until all the juice is gone
