justwrite 10 february

This is the space between the laces the lines pulled tight right after left behind moments the time I took a walk and went nowhere the foursquare garden hardened against winter and the winners schmoozing the losers at the cocktail parade I’m fading and so is my interest in that direction but a little correction with the right ink the bright think the night link between sleep and day is what keeps us going how we wake up in hope of returning to bed instead of worries we hurry ourselves to dream it seems this is a truth self-evident but we don’t hold it in the declaration for we have our independence but from what is hard to say there’s a day had by every dog but the clogged passages collapse around us and our hearts too still to fill with yes more of the same the love the game the players the season we have reasons we like to forget but this is how we let ourselves in the door this is where the floor rises up to meet our feet and not our faces we’ve got this tied up and bows abound I’ve found slipknots and squares got to dance but we wear the pants in our own lives our idioms our stereotypes our wronged rights we are the tired fired up the greater of the least there are beggars and there is a feast but we have nothing to say of that we have nothing but skinny cats to feed and ramps to lead up to the next adventure pass up your credentials and share the evidence the tense is too present and the scenes much too hesitant let’s seem some action let’s grab traction by the handful we demand full cooperation and the nations must be united or they’ll easily be untied this is how we’ve tried to phrase it but the language wants to craze itself into policy the words we say and the fields we play the games in the ways spin into means and though the intentions are good the misunderstood unreliable itchy stitch buyable we are off the script having tripped on vocation vacation the change in the station as the static crackles and the thunder rises the easygo surprises could hardly be more in store and it seems they’re still in stock in shock in stockings drinking tea to calm the nerves well-served by the occasional dose anyway I’d have to say
