the choice of calm and cool and rest and
taking a different step in another direction
to stir what is still and spill what is full
too much to ask in giving away
answer riddles as if a recipe for understanding
landing on pages and turning away
there is feeling and there is being notquite
and when the balance tips its hand to withdraw
the deposits in closets and deep within pockets
emptying and the wind blows cold
closing eyes instead for a better view
there is nothing broken but the light
