because there is no reason to pass it on
the strands that stretch and tug and pull
no escaping science as the tangle turns to knot
better to fade to memory and out
let go of holding on as long as medicine
as far as growth there is no need
future balance a challenge with or without doubt
there will be more of others who want more
squeezing all the air out of the vision
seen by those no longer looking up
the close the turn the dark te clear
no need to drag it out and on and through
a door that closes means there's quiet now
