because otherwise I am upside down
or else all else is
lightning bugs and shooting stars
planes and lights of passing cars
a neon buzz gone flat
deflated and decaffeinated
but sometimes there is gravity
that lights the way
that sets the day in motion
the notion of forward
forewarned but not hesitating
something better ahead is waiting
full circle to remember
a season I recall
waiting in the dark for the ticket to arrive
